Which programme

Programme I or Programme II?

The NT2 State Exam has two levels. Which programme you choose depends on what you want to do with it. We look at that together during the intake.

Programma I · B1

For work and vocational education

You read, listen, write and speak at level B1: enough for most jobs and for a vocational (mbo) programme.

Programma II · B2

For higher education

Level B2, required by most universities of applied sciences, research universities and professions with a lot of writing and consultation.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about the State Exam.

Programme I prepares you for level B1 and is aimed at work and vocational education. Programme II takes you to level B2, for moving on to a university of applied sciences or research university. During the intake we look at which programme suits your goal.
Yes. At the start of every month there is an entry point, so you join a group that matches your language level. If the levels within a group drift too far apart, we reshuffle the groups.
For civic integration we sometimes offer online lessons to students on the B1 route. For business training and private lessons we work with hybrid and online lessons.
Four parts: reading, listening, writing and speaking. You take them separately and may retake a part. Once you have passed all four, DUO issues the NT2 State Exam diploma.
Private courses cost € 15 per lesson hour. If you have a civic integration obligation, you can pay for the course with a DUO loan. You pay for the exam itself to DUO.
